#2015 Memories

Thursday, December 31, 2015

Basically,2015 has been a lot of ups and downs for me.It was full of trial-and-error periods that at the end,all those hardships were worth achieving.Let it be the events I've attended, the things I started to like and the people who became so important to me.So here goes my traditional rundown of the year ;)

Japan Tales: Fukuoka (part 2)

Thursday, August 20, 2015

June 2: Temple Run at Dazaifu + Drink night with the cousinsThis was our only day tour for the whole trip: to go to the temple of Dazaifu.

Japan Tales : Fukuoka (part 1)

Saturday, August 15, 2015

This post has been very delayed for I've been soo busy over the past few weeks! Having a 16hr-duty once a week or a 4-days work was such a burden. But anyhow, this is gonna be a 3-part entry as I had my very first touchdown in Japan 2 months ago! :)

June 1:Hello Fukuoka!
Me and my mom had a 4-day vacay at Fukuoka where one of my relatives live. We stayed at Grand Hyatt hotel which is beside Canal City, one of the popular malls in town. The view from the hotel was quite lovely as the mall's buildings are very colorful. I bet you can't tour the whole mall for just one day! We just skimmed through the shops for now and took pictures (the tourist way! Hahaha).

welcome drinks from ze hotel! Haha isn't it so complete? ;D

There's actually a couple of photobooth stalls at the mall wherein it works like the Camera360 app. They call it "porikula" and it costs ¥400 per shot. How I wish we have this in Manila! This is so much fun to do with friends ;D The picture can also be sent on your e-mail via their website.

So we tried this particular booth since this is endorsed by my cousin,Elaiza Ikeda (the girl with the yellow bow) Then ta-dah!here's what we've got:

Then by night, we took a walk around Tenjin Central Park and had ramen for dinner-–yes,authentic ramen!! The service reminded me of Ramen Nagi; but of course, this one's a lot better! From eating in a ramen bar to having free servings of soup,it was all worth it costing ¥750.

I like how savvy it was to order through an automated machine. While, this is how the bar looked like..

the lovely night lights in Fukuoka.❤️
Then after that, we went to Don Quixote to buy make-ups and Japanese delicacies. This is where I started to appreciate the green tea kitkat. It was so delicious that I have to buy more than 4packs for home! :)) While for the cosmetics, i bought a lipstick from Chifure and a blush on. I also bought a pack of nail stickers which I'll be using on my next trip soon. ;)

to be continued..

RN life so far..(and company outing)

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

It has been a month since I've started working in the hospital and so far, I still couldn't say whether I liked it or not.Maternal Care isn't really my forte during my nursing studies before but between that and the medicine ward,I guess I prefer to stay at the Ob-Gyne for a moment. I started as a dope here since I have very little knowledge in maternal care whether it's CS or NSD or even a Gyne case.Yet as I've had numerous duty days previously,I came to learn more about it. This adjustment mode is gonna take a pretty long time to endure Sometimes I ask myself, "what other positive interventions should I do?" Yet,many people say that it's always hard the beginning but once you get the hang of it, everything will drive in smoothly. And I just hope it happens to me someday~

The whole Ob-Gyne staff :)

Anyhow,I had my first ever company outing at Coolwaves Waterpark Ranch at Bulakan, Bulacan last April 16th. I never thought that it was that near! Haha.Like it only took us an hour and half from Ortigas to the venue.

Me,Ma'm Raissa, MJ, Gladys, Cecil and Ma'm Weng at the back part of the bus.

Here's a polaroid shot with Ma'm Dom :)
We reserved 2 cottages there and for a whole day tour,we grilled, swam and played parlor games.Seriously,is that what they really do in company outings?Like one of the parlor games was a banana eating contest---but this one's different. The banana's covered with chocolate powder and you have to eat it first before you eat the whole banana (and you can't use your hands to eat it,btw)! So us, Junior staff were the contestants and apparently, I came in second!hahaha :)) We have a picture of it on Facebook.

The Ob-Gyne Junior Staff! Ma'm Aira,MJ, Ma'm Dom,yours truly,Ma'm Joyce and Gladys

and to narrate it less, here's a video of our whole outing made by one of our Seniors, Ma'm Jen :)
This is pretty much,my second all-girl family next to my college sisters. But this time,I'm the youngest here.I have so much to learn on this love-hate relationship I have with work itself. Once again,I apologize for having this as a very late entry that it didn't make it as an entry for April. I had a straight 16-hr duty last week from 2pm-6am and it was...stressed (because I wasn't ready!) -__-
Anyway,we'll see what happens next.

'til then!

#2014 Memories

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Words can't explain how much this year has been well-achieved and a success. It has been a year of teary-eyed moments, goals achieved and of course,"I never thought of..." events ;") So here it goes!

Parties with my 2 favorites

Sunday, August 31, 2014

I've been attending events for the past 2 weeks and I'm so overwhelmed that each of it was with my favorites ❤️ My whole month of August has become so much fun and fearless at the same time! Fearless as I took my IV Therapy training at Capitol Medical Center and it went well. I hated IV injections and I was even so scared to be pricked by it.Yet I suddenly overcome my fears at it as my partner on the training pricked me twice! Hahaha :)) My veins on my hands were quite hard to detect that's why the nurse supervisor suggested to prick me on both hands. I did not mind about it,though. I took it as an experience and went fine. Nonetheless, I look forward to more of my RN trainings soon! :D "let the right job arrive to you on the right moment. #notetoself"

(072614) Vios Cup Race 2!

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

Me and my family spent the weekend at Clark, Pampanga where we watched the Vios Cup Race 2 at Clark Speedway. It was my first time to watch a race car competition and I never thought this would be fun! Although what makes it more fun was that my favorite is part of the race!Haha :) But I really do enjoyed the event even if I'm not a fan of cars.Yet I'm quite familiar with the Vios as I've been attending several Toyota events since last year.

my sweet goodbye to COLLEGE ;')

Saturday, April 5, 2014

It's been a week from Hogwart's Day aka Graduation and it feels great and reminiscing! Yes, my 4 years in college has come to an end. Though in Nursing, we had 2 graduation days last week: Clinical Grad and University Grad.

The clinical grad (March 25) is a commencement ceremony after completing a thousand hours of RLE duties since we started during 2nd year college.Oh I remember the moment when we just had our capping ceremony last 2011...

Then last 2013, I became an usherette on the said event..

Me and Kristine, doing selfies during the 2013 clinical grad (lol)."i wonder how will it be by the time our batch reaches that point?"
And yet, here we are!Wearing gala uniforms and the Paulinian nurse's cap.

Me with my crazy crew, clinical graduation style!Haha ;D

It has been a great accomplishment after moments of travel-duties,graveyard shifts, community immersion and intensive practicum.I also received a certificate for being part of the BSN cheering squad---THAT is what i can never ever forget! "we run the world like n-u-r-s-i-n-g NURSING!

March 26.The day after that was the University Grad.We stayed at the school gym for 8 hours from Baccalaureate Mass to the Commencement Exercises--having said that the heat was immense! But anyway, the event was well worth it.Thank God I have made it this far. :')

Now this is my crazy crew, university graduation style!! :))
Do check out my facebook and instagram for more pics with my other college friends.Indeed, my college alma mater gave me a new life as I used to say before. I remember how excited I was when I first entered there: Chemistry was our first class on that very first day and I even got lost in looking for the classroom(the Chem. lab).Haha! That was also the moment when I met the new people--my blockmates.I actually gotten to know some of them from Facebook already especially the ones I met during the orientation.Haha.And that's where cliques started to form in class. The first clique that I have gotten into were avid in going to Gateway or Mcdonald's (courtesy of the school's Mcdo Shuttle Service). At some point, I thought I was going to eat chicken fillets forever!.LOL. Then as time passed by, I moved on to another clique. It was called 'IZUNIA' which was derived from the second letter of our names :)We used to be a fun group, but it fell apart as some of us became closer to another clique and one shifted from another course. However, I stayed in touch with the one who shifted because she was my closest friend on our group. Soon enough, I'm on a different clique again together with my other closest friend from "IZUNIA".So yeah, I really tend to hang-out with different groups in class rather then settling myself to a permanent group of friends. Because with a permanent group, it has always been a 'one for all-all for one' decision and I do not like it that way.Hence, I always have different partners when it comes to dyad activities...until me and my other closest friend surprisingly jives up with my point of view(and vice-versa).Okay,too much about friend stuffssss :p

It was not only my blockmates who formed my life way back then. Happily, I get to join the cheering squad for the College Freshman Society (CFS)and there, I also get to meet new people from different courses. I never thought that I'd still be dancing throughout my college life! On my 2nd year, I get to join the BSN cheerdance squad aka The Real Life Champions. This is where I met my older fellow schoolmates from Nursing. I knew I was a dope at first but thanks to them, they have taught me to do stunts and improved my dancing skills.I cannot believe that I learned how to do cartwheels, backrolls and other skills. Those after-duty practices had certainly build up my confidence and how to balance my time amidst the academics.

At first, I was thrilled to learn my major subjects from the course.I find it very interesting to learn more about the human body from Anatomy to maternal and child until...shit happened on Medical-Surgical.It was supposed to be exciting to learn further about body diseases; but with an unattractive approach of teaching(Say,sharing life experiences instead of referring to the book)?I don't think a single concept could be retained then!It is hard doing self-study on vague terms. Maybe that's why I cannot even manage to finish one chapter of the book! Thus, I started to lack interest on the subject. Then eventually, I hated it when we needed to apply it at the OR---then I hate it even more(or perhaps, the MOST) when we studied about Acute Biologic Crisis and had an exam on it.ughh.I started to despise my course since then like the pressure is on from our cut-off grade and the overflowing requirements.I had no choice of shifting since my full hatred began between my 3rd and 4th year.Though on the other hand, I adore my minor subjects instead. And yes, I enjoyed my minor subjects very much especially the social subjects :D Thank you to the CASE faculty for their kindness and support. They are the best professors, I should say.Haha! Aside from the subjects,I would also not forget our #TEAMFLOATING days on our thesis! We started from 9 balls and ended with 9 balls. Ergo, that's consistency marks the spot! ;p

So my college life has been filled with love-hate situations that lead to new point of views. At the end, I had the craziest crew friends.I have gone to places I have never been and perhaps, I did things that I never thought I could. The duty exposures has fed up all my curiosities on being a nurse. My college bucketlist would have had a lot of check marks if I had made one from the start! And that is something to be proud of.A Paulinian created by the image and likeness of God. :') Although, this ain't the end for my nursing journey yet! There is still, the deadly board exam.

So yeah, I might remain idle here again on the coming days. But I'll try to make more new entries soon!
'til then!! CONGRATS TO US ALL, BATCH 2014!!!!

My LAST 3 months of 'Duty-Duties'

Monday, March 31, 2014

Okayyyy, lets recap from January where my Intensive Nursing Practicum started.Basically,my year of clinical duty started with a lot of travelling(or shall we saying touring perhaps!). I had a duty in a health center,a school, community immersion part 2 and our hospital duty at Cavite.
For January,we had our individual duty scheds on different areas.Going solo flight is very nerve wrecking at first---let alone, you need to prepare a health teaching and some other activities for your assigned area.Though one of the good perks there is that 1)there's no call time and 2)NO CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS.hahaha! On the first two weeks,i was assigned at Industrial Valley Health Center, Marikina City. Duties at the community are always lax;Yet,this one's even LAX-ER as it seems! As in,we spent most of the time there eating and looking over mild cases of patients. But the lax hours break down during Measles vaccination day.Pretty much, vaccining the kids for anti-measles has been the highlight of my stay there! :) Moving on,I was assigned at St. Mary's College QC for school nursing on the last 2 weeks of the month. My duty there has been my most favorite duty experience since I adore interacting with kids :)It was nice getting to know the staff as well and even if there are physical exams everday,I still enjoyed it because that's the time where I get to talk with the students (mind you, they are friendly.haha!).Until now, i do miss addressing each and everyone as 'Madam' from that school.haha ;p
February 'til March has been a month of out-of-town duties. On the first week,we returned to Bagac,Bataan for our 2nd dose of community immersion. This time, we had a different set of foster families as we implement our program. We taught them how to have their own business such as making pastillas and manicure/pedicure. Of course, the home remedies for common illnesses are also taught to them.On our last day there, we conducted a medical/dental mission which was chaotic.Let alone, almost all families lined in for a check-up!
The week after was the start of our intensive hospital nursing at St. Paul Hospital Cavite. We stayed there for a month every 4 days a week!I had this homesick feeling at first but I get to recover it as thankfully,my crazy crew were my roommates!! ;D So it has always been fun bonding with them after duty. Well moving on,we had a 12-hr shift there as I got assigned from a semi-private ward, payward,OR and ER.As usual, the morning shift(6am-6pm) has always been the busiest especially in the wards. However, the wards are usually filled with mild cases only (unless if it's in the medical ward). And another thing that's mild and lax is about my duty at the OR on a graveyard shift!(6pm-6am)We never had a single major case for 4 days!!So it was not really our fault why we had time to nap during the night shift.Though even if were lax,I still don't like that kind of shift; It makes me feel anxious having the thought of being alert and awake throughout the night.hashtag damaged body clock. On the last week of duty,I was at the ER and likewise,it was pretty mild (again).Haha!Unlike other hospitals in the city, the ER used to be crowded but in here,it was so mild you could spend the whole duty packing some sponges instead!Hahaha :)) Yet I enjoyed my duty there since the staff taught us more about hands-on nursing procedures.

So there goes my last dose of duty-duties!! THANKFULLY,I'M DONE WITH IT AFTER 3 YEARS!!! It's been an adventure as we head from north to south and to many other places in Manila.
'til then! I'll post the pics soon.Stay tuned for my college-ending entry! ;)

#2013 MEMORIES

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Indeed, this year has been a blast and it's one of the BEST!I may be busy all throughout, but the year has brought me in to a lot of surprises and to "things I never thought would possibly happen". :')
10. CROSSFIRE. Last year, Christian Grey was the ultimate peg; Now,this new book series nailed it! The Dark&Dangerous Gideon Cross stole my heart this year.❤️ Just like Mr.Grey, this man has his own 'problems' too (and so as the heroine character in the story,Eva Tramell). But their love affair is sweeter than Steele-Grey :"> The series is already on its 3rd book and it has more mature content. So if you're legal(18+) and curious on a different kind of romance, try reading this :)

and btw,the story's not ending on the third book yet! ;D

9.Camo luvin'.Meet the newest addition to my favorites!Tho purple is still my most fave.I somehow don't know why I got hooked on camouflage when it's just all of a sudden that i started collecting stuff in that print(and it drives me crazy!hahaha!).No wonder,it does look unique. But you know,I don't like military nor soldiers---except for a #soldieroflove perhaps.oops!HAHAHA ;))

8. Christmas with my Japanese cousins. Shopping + roadtrippin' + drinking sessions with them was great!! :D Mind you,it's been more than 10 years since they've last spent the holidays here since they usually go around July. Thus, touring them around town has always been fun.Check out my facebook for our pictures :)

7. Concerts!concerts! I'm pleased to attend 2 concerts this year; from Demi Lovato's to Carly Rae Jepsen's :D Like what I've reviewed last year, Carly Rae became one of my favorite popstars 'cause of her upbeat songs. While for Demi,I really am a fan of hers since she starred on Camp Rock. She'd be my idol if I were a highschool teen now 'cause I find her similar to Kelly Clarkson :) Anyway,I was supposed to watch Ke$ha's also but unfortunately, school screwed it up for me (hashtag duty problems T__T).However,i look forward to watch more concerts next year! :)

6. Dance with the GFORCE. After 987654321000 years,my plan of enrolling myself to a dance workshop once again has finally come true!lol. And it's not just any dance workshop..I can't even believe at first that I'm on a dance class from a group that's performing on ASAP!Hence,it was really great.i despise rehearsals but i do miss them especially the moments when we're practicing the choreography already :) I'm glad to be part of Jazz funk batch 1 by Teacher Sherwin Casepe! This whole workshop just built more about my stage presence dancing skills.Hopefully next year,i'd be able to join again.Watch & Read the show here!

5. Epic CREW-ventures. We may be tangled by our hectic scheds in school, but we still found opportunities to unwind and HAVE FUN! Call it dramatic but I do feel disconnected to the world if all I do is to go to school then go home in a day.Sometimes, you need to take a break from it--like going to new places and trying new things which my barkada usually do. :)

how to spell FUN and CRAZY with these people. :))

4. My crazyyy 20th birthday.

Simply, a beautiful mess.yet unforgettable. It's the most memorable moment that i'll have for the 2nd decade of my life.I do have very surprising guests and gifts, but the fact that I passed out was just....ugh,eff THAT.lol.Wanna recap it?.

3. Grease Manila(111013).like I said, I'll never forget this play ever! Some people even discouraged me from watching it as I was deciding before if I'm really going to watch. But since I've been hooked to this eversince I was watching the rehearsals on the net and my favorite will be there,I suddenly thought that I can't miss this show.and so,things happened--I watched the show and it was amazing plus surprisingly,I get to meet the cast at the end. ;D I'll never forget that moment when Carla D. hugged me that time!♥ tell me more, tell me more! ;p

2. #helloSINGAPORE!This made my summer vacay this year superb ♥ Our whole trip there was absolutely amazing from endless shoppings, diversing with mixed races and our whole day at Universal Studios.Indeed,i'd loved to go back there again(and I AM coming back!!) soon ;) Reminisce with me here: part 1 l part 2 .

1. Friends with the DJ's.---well not just DJ's but also theater stars! And I'm so pleased and thankful to meet them.I didn't expect such things to happen!Especially meeting my 2 favorites, Carla Dunareanu and Sam YG for several times! :"""> Yeah,i got to admit that i usually have those 'embarrassing moments' to meet them;but having the guts to do it surely turns out to something!Haha.Though when it comes to my favorite days with them, the most would probably be with Sam.♥ oh lord, thank you for making this possible!! 0:")

(from L-R)with Andi Manzano,Slick Rick,Ramon Bautista,Sara Meier,Carla Dunareanu,Sam YG,Jojo the "love survivor",Boom Gonzales,Jennifer Blair-Bianco, James Stacey,Rafa Siguion-Reyna,James Laurel

Now that's a wrap! And I'm sure the funnerness won't stop here--there IS MORE TO COME. :) So why not we gallop for more new memories next year?Haha! 'til then!I would like to thank everyone who reads my entries here.thank you, thank you,THANK YOU!!!

CREW-ventures at Kapitolyo!

Saturday, November 23, 2013

2 weeks ago,we had our training at Healthcare Advantage Institute(HCAI) located at Kapitolyo,Pasig. We took up Basic Life Support, ICU Nursing and lectures on physical assessment. The lectures were all good but I still don't like having return demonstrations after discussion!Haha, the agony of memorizing and understanding a checklist is ughhhh… -__-

Anyway,me and my crew friends had a happy lunchtime during our stay there as we explore the nearby restaurants around the town. :) Indeed, Kapitolyo seems to be the place for all foodies. The area is filled with fine-dining restos and shops; And so,here are some that we tried:

DAY 1: HARU SUSHI BAR & RESTO.If you're a fan of authentic Japanese cuisine, then this is the place to be!It's all Japanese from the interior, which is more exaggerating from other known Japanese restos in town. Although the food is quite pricey especially the sushis,it tasted good. I ordered Katsu Curry Rice which comes with Miso Soup.

 photo 20131106_130019_zps5c51ae71.jpg
DAY 2: SOHO.This fancy resto was just beside HCAI and they serve various Filipino cuisines at a very affordable price. The food tasted great as well, their menu changes often just like in a carinderia :) Not only that, the place also sells handcrafted designs.

DAY 3: RAMEN COOL .So we ate at another Japanese resto and this time, it's obviously more of a Ramen house but they have it…cold.joke! I actually searched this on the internet before we tried it and there I even found a clipart of it which is a ramen mixed with ice!So I was like,"seriously?!?!this I have to see!HAHA!!" :)) Well of course, the ramen was certainly hot…and it's the best I've ever tasted. This Neppanyaki ramen is a must-try!

DAY 4: CAB CAFE.We went Italian for the last day!Although there's a kebab in the menu…haha! :)) Yet, the highlight of our order is this pizza:

10 slices for P300!!

And here's the kebab that I was talking about.Mind you,it did tasted authentic with the strong smell of the mixed spices!

I loved to go back and try the other restaurants there soon!! ;)
'til then!
