The Housemaid---and Reasons why YOU have to watch it

Tuesday, February 10, 2026

It was on October 2024 when “The Housemaid” was announced to have a movie adaptation and as I read the book on that same month along with casting news that Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried will be the leads, I knew I had a good feeling about this! This trilogy by Freida McFadden is about an ex-prisoner whom applied as a housemaid to a wealthy family in order to start a new life. As she continued to serve and live in the attic, the family’s secrets began to unwrap leading to a thrilling twist of the story. The film premiered on December in USA and UK while January for the Philippines where I first watched it and up to present time, it has been a global box office hit! I even watched it again when I returned in London since it deserves to be watched twice…or can be more than that! 'cause why not?! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Here are my 5 good reasons why you have to watch this film whether you love thriller, the book, the cast or anything in between ๐Ÿ˜‰

London Film Festival 2025 and Sydney Sweeney

Sunday, December 21, 2025

I would’ve written this earlier but I got so occupied with my recent flat move. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ Though, despite real life’s busy-ness and chaos, my mind remains rent-free from reminiscing my experience of attending the BFI London Film Festival! It was a 10-day event that features a series of highly-anticipated films, movie shorts and screen talks. I managed to attend 2 Gala premieres for “No Other Choice” by Park Chan Wook and “Christy” by David Michรดd. Not only was I able to watch it firsthand, I was able to meet and greet the celebs during the red carpet—especially Sydney Sweeney which is my highlight of this event.♡ Up to this point, I still can't believe that I finally met her as one of my idols.๐Ÿฅน

In this blog, I will be sharing how I managed to attend the event, my red carpet memories, a short review about the films I’ve watched and my personal stance on “America’s Great JEANS” ๐Ÿ˜Œ

8/10: Echo Valley

Thursday, July 3, 2025

(14JUN25) It’s been ages since I’ve done a film or a TV series review! Though, this film that I recently watched over the weekend (literally the day after landing in London) has been very dear to me as it’s starred by Sydney Sweeney.♡ This is the first film of hers that I’ve got hooked on their whole press journey and let alone, they even stretched it here in the UK but unfortunately, I was travelling when it happened!๐Ÿ˜” I know I’m overreacting but I’m still grieving on it until now that I wasn’t able to attend it. In fact, there were other opportunities that I missed which I will share in this entry.

But going back to Sydney, she has been a huge addition to my favorites since I watched her in “Anyone But You”. Currently, this film called “Echo Valley” which she starred with Julianne Moore is a psychological thriller about how far a mother could go for to save her child—the usual summary that these 2 celebrities spill out during their interviews. And indeed, it is eerie, shocking and intense which made me covered my eyes on some scenes—well I won’t fully spoil why but here’s my film critic and a little take of their promotional leg.

Son Ye Jin Filmography

Tuesday, June 2, 2020

DISCLAIMER: all thoughts are of my own.

As promised, I'm going to critic about Son Ye Jin's films after watching them all (well, not completely all since I skipped 2 of her first movies because there were no available links of it online) during my quarantine period. SYJ has been in the industry for 20 years and she's known to be the "Melodrama Queen" which she truly deserve!๐Ÿ–ค Her acting skills are amazing having said that she has taken different kinds of genre from rom-com to crime/thriller/adventure. Generally, most of her movies are mere tear-jerkers with unique storylines and unpredictable endings. Hence, here are my thoughts on each of her craft in chronological order (so it won't be biased!Haha)

Greysessed duties for "Fifty Shades of Grey"

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Yesss after 3 years of waiting, one of my fav novels made it to the big screen!! Well I got to admit that I had a break from being Greysessed for years since I got hooked on the Crossfire series; But I still have a big big heart for my dear Christian Grey.❤️ Going back to last year when the trailer came out,I was so excited that I cannot contain my feels anymore---like I needed an emergency flight to America if this won't be shown in the Philippines (yet thankfully,it did). So yeah, I watched it twice because I couldn't wait any longer for the blockscreening last Feb.15.Hahaha! That's why I first watched it on the second day of premiere last Feb. 12.I watched it with my mom who wasn't really aware of the erotic story and I can't believe she liked it at the end!In fact she's more obsessed than I am now as she watched it thrice and reads the books.See how Christian Grey's impact goes for the women...sigh ❤️
