the COVID19 Lockdown Itinerary

Wednesday, May 6, 2020

Tell me, is this gonna be, "wake me up when COVID19 ends"?!

2020 has been very peculiar that taught us new vocabularies such as enhanced quarantine, lockdown, frontliner, social distancing and the massive use of PPE (personal protective equipment).It felt like we are all living in a Big Brother house as we have to stay indoors in a certain point of time. As a healthcare professional, I got to say this virus is really contagious which keeps our work nerve-wrecking in the hospital lately. Aside from the lack of PPE, there's understaffing that leads to burnout so the probability of being infected is high. So lets cooperate with our national policies to #STAYATHOME. Personally, I still feel a pang of disappointment with my cancelled travel plans due to this outbreak. It made me stay here in London for the longest period already which lingers my homesickness ;( Hence, I figured to create a lockdown itinerary instead! Truly, there's more than just an "eat-sleep-repeat" routine at home 😜

*MOVIE/SERIES MARATHON- Now's the right moment to do that 'Netflix and Chill' to your heart's content!There are tons of shows to watch yet nowadays, the world of Korean drama is on its throne again. I even thought that my Kdrama binge-watch will end at "Crash Landing On You", but I ended up watching the films/series starred by Son Ye Jin ☺️ Her acting prowess is amazing; I might do a film review once I finish seeing her works.And special mention,I'm a proud #BinJin shipper. Nothing beats her chemistry with Hyun Bin. 😉

**As of May 1st, I've finished watching all of her films so I'm on to her series now!^^ Thank you
@yejinland_ for the template.

*MEAL PREPPIN'- I've heard a lot of people that one of the most unlocked skills this quarantine season is the art of COOKING. Indeed, there's a feeling of achievement when you get to create a good meal and doing so can relieve stress 👍🏻 I started to learn how to cook eversince I've worked abroad and this has been an addition to my Instagram highlights as a current substitute to my travel shenanigans. Haha! I usually get recipes from my family as I miss the meals in Manila so much!

Check out my meal prep highlights and many others on my Instagram!

Others have taken it to another level which is BAKING! Here's a banana cake with walnuts and choc chips by one of my housemates. Did you know that one of the products that people panic buy in the UK is flour?!Besides pasta and eggs to name a few.
do you belong to the 99.5% who have tried making this Dalgona Coffee?or the latest Kori Kohi? :)) Surely there are many more food hack recipes that are discovered at this time!

*BUILD,BUILD,BUILD- Always put your brain into action even on dull moments like this.Either challenge yourself to complete a 1000-4000 piece jigsaw puzzle or create some DIY activities. Since the PPE attire has been the latest fashion these days, homemade knitted face masks have become a trend!While as for me, I continue to build this DIY miniature doll house that my brother gave me last Christmas.
I started it last January and after 4 months...ta-dah!Well the only reason why it took that long is definitely because of my work schedule ;p
It was fun and tricky from the little furniture pieces to the wirings of the lightbulbs (which was the hardest for me).Nevertheless, the key is to pay attention to detail!Haha.

*STAY HYGIENIC!-"Hand washing is the best policy" but pampering further means coloring the nails/hair, body wax or simply, do some skin care.Applying facial mask/cream is certainly refreshing!It gives that calming effect by making your face smooth and clean.
gifts from Korea(and they're popular with these products)!Going to SK/NK (yes, I'm serious about Pyongyang) is part of my bucketlist that I hope to tick once this madness is over ;)

*MEDITATION-Oftentimes, zoning out from your comfort space is a way of claiming inner peace. Being in a silent place can release that negative stress. In addition, don't forget to PRAY 🖤 It's been my habit to read a healing book ever since I returned here in London as anxiety peaks through.What more with this cabin fever?! Likewise, never forget to spent a couple of hours praising the Lord.

I believe there are more indoor stuff that we can do aside from these like online fitness exercises, de-stressing on TikTok...the creativity is endless!
But most importantly, keep in contact with your loved ones and lets all hope for a MUCH better second half of the year ;)
