Throwback #CLOYtober

Monday, November 16, 2020

My birthmonth has been blessed with overflowing BinJin contents together with the fandom's socmed event entitled, #Cloytober. Organized by @cloysauce who's currently behind the works of a #serihawky twitterserye, the event has brewed up the creativity of the whole fandom through graphics, artworks or written pieces throughout the day-to-day prompts. πŸ–€

Thus, I would like to share my compilation of entries with little concept backstories. Truly, I tried to make every piece as meaningful as how CLOY & BinJin became my inspiration. ;)

D-1: Parachute: At first, I basically have no plans of joining the bandwagon because of my uncertainty to complete it but as it kept trending on my feeds, I just gave it a go. πŸ˜… I made a quick edit about one of my most fave scenes using my constant paint effect ☺️

"actually, you didn't fall...you descended" πŸ–€

D-2: Tomato. A sample comeback of my animated GIFS; I let the tomato grew as dear Jeong Hyeok says 10 nice words to Seri's "special thanks" plant!

D-3: Candle. The first pic was supposed to be my entry however, I realized that I've been doing the same grungy effect again. Moreover, what does candle have to do with that art? So i placed the design in a random candle clipart instead with a short dialogue from episode 2.

D-4: Soju. Fun fact #1: I was conceptualizing this while I was at work πŸ˜† I used one of our office computers to search for Korean promise hand gestures as inspired from episode 12. Such that, I arrived with a scrapbook concept of their soju night---a time that they had promised, stamped, copied and laminatedπŸ–€

D-5: Ramyun. Of course, I have to make this entry extra special 'cause it was my birthday! Therefore, I produced a limited edition Samyang noodles: A taste from the North & South hot dooly chicken flavored ramen! ;D I was very glad that the majority loved it as they thought it was for real πŸ˜† Generally, I branded the whole design both digitally and in sketch in which the pink packet and noodles came from Samyang's Carbo flavor. How I wish that the company would hear us out to release this special taste ;p

D-6: Coffee. One of the ways to a woman's heart is to make her a hand-dripped kopi πŸ–€ The scene is from ep4 which really got me craving for coffee!I even went to grab for a Starbucks thereafter :))

D-7: Portraits.
Honestly, this was one of the hardest prompts to ponder of. In my mind, I was thinking to show my first attempt on vector art in a frame but I found it too common to do so. Then I suddenly thought of recent magazine covers that BinJin released at that time so poof! Here's Museo ala BinJin ;D The setting's from London's National Gallery and I loved how their Swiss shot blend very well like as if they were really looking at themselves on how far they've come.#LongLiveBinJin 😍

D-8 & 9: Family/Childhood. It was my first take to show my sketches to the BinJin world for another  CLOY twist. As I've mentioned in one of my tweets, drawing has been my long time passion. Never have I thought that fangirling would drive me back to it ;")

This was dedicated to one of the fandom's well-known authornims, @momlifealways who created a fanfic sequel of CLOY called "At Long Last". Believe it or not, the story felt like a true continuation of the drama which I couldn't get enough similar to my admiration of the original.πŸ–€ And so, here's the Ri family starring their kids, Ri Jeong Hwan as the little avenger and Ri Jin-Ah as their 'little peach'. I recommend y'all to read it to feed your CLOY S2 hunger!

On the other hand was my own version of Little Hyeokky & Seri---a North & South fighting over a penguin toy doll. Haha! Does my raw sketch looked better than the inked one?! πŸ˜…

My heart was so full for everyone to appreciate my 3 consecutive entries then. I didn't expect the amount of Twitter likes/RT given to these posts. Kaya maraming salamat!Kansamnida!
  Thankyou soo much!πŸ–€

D-10: Lake. Since this signifies much of the Switzerland shots, I made a postcard-inspired out of it. May we all get to travel there someday 'cause yep, sometimes I have those Yoon Seri feels in which "I wanted to go to a beautiful place and quietly disappear..."

D-11: Campfire. Who can never forget this scene from episode 5?! And this was my real first attempt to do digital art completely done from scratch. After years (yes, no exaggerations.) of me being persuaded by my aunt and cousin to buy a drawing tablet, I have finally purchased one a few months back and now use it to return myself to my old hobby. It was difficult to use in the beginning but it gets better through practice. It somewhat tested my patience and attention to detail as I've learned. Plus, it was heart-fluttering to sketch this from grey tones to coloring 'em 😍

D-12: Camera.I made another crossover from the moment Jeong Hyeok asked for a picture and their recent contents in polaroid shots. Please don't be fooled that the Leica camera does film shots.

D-13: Apple. This apple scene came from episode 16. It was such a tricky prompt that I just managed to create a hallmark card-inspired design! What brought me to this concept was because I was buying a birthday card for my housemate πŸ˜…  So I came up with a cute-sy design and a random quote...all to make it look ap-PEAL-ling.

D-14: Ring.
This made me rewatch ep13 aaaand Fun fact #2: whenever I rewatch CLOY whether clips or full eps, I always end up replaying those sweet RiRi moments for loads so it took a while before I cracked on with the graphic πŸ˜… Videoblends are certainly the hardest to create which sums up why I only captured their short hand caress. Nevertheless, I'm glad everyone approved it!
Listen to a cover of "I Give U My Heart" by @BinJinSuadade to have a complete feel for this scene!

D-15: Brother.
I remember having this as a late entry because I've ran out of ideas for the prompt besides an effort to play "A Song For My Brother" yet I can't do any musical instruments (I wish I can, though!) πŸ™πŸ»‍♀️ Several entries have made their own rendition and they were really good! Whereas for me, I just did a simple vector art of Seri and the comrades---brothers from another mother.

D-16: Passport.I'm sure every CLOY fan has filled its travel document with these immigration-inspired episode stamps during this pandemic! I made a Hyun Bin edition of this before for his birthday and that reminds me, shall I add these designs to my sticker pack proposal? Let me know if y'all are interested!^^

D-17 & 18: Cooking/Bridge. It's an animated GIF weekend! Here are 2 different styles of animation which features Jeong Hyeok's cooking skills from episode 2 and Seri's suicidal moment in Sigriswil.

D-19 to 23: Piano/FiancΓ¨/Hospital/Picnic/Fortune. As the first week of AAA voting commenced, I decided to make a weekday magazine issue with daily reminders to vote. Fun Fact #3: I used to be part of my school's newsletter team during my highschool and a bit on my college years so I was familiar with journal layouts πŸ˜… Every page still lived with each word of the day with quirky statements (the hardest part if you're typically lost with vocab. Haha). Check out my Twitter for the full size of these posts!

D-24: Goodbye. Literally, this should've been my last entry 'cause work has been taking a toll on me. ;( This was another late entry and that's why I did my usual graphic style again with a silhouette of episode 16. Even up to this point, I still couldn't watch that last episode without shedding a tear.

D-25: Market. Bonus last entry 'cause it's a Sunday and this has absolutely concluded my train of ideas to the extent that I just made it as vibrant as possible. Market means 'shopping'!

Officially, I did skipped the next 5 prompts as work continued to be a bummer to my fangirl life leading me to become brainless. I know, it's awful ;( But of course, I wouldn't miss the last day!

D-31: Beer. And for the finale, I used one of the wildcard entries that clinks for an appreciation post for this successful event πŸ–€

I had fun sharing my creations to the fandom as well as seeing other talents! Our favorite kdrama might have ended for a long time but it'll forever crash land on our hearts. And hey, there's definitely more to come for BinJin! Thus, lets continue to wait and pray desperately. #ICBM ;)

I will still continue to make CLOY graphics through this thread so feel free to check and use any of my episodial banners and wallies!πŸ’
